EFFLUENT LIQUIDS ARE NO LONGER A PROBLEM!

Over 80% of potable water used is converted by the population in wastewater being unable to be reincorporated into the food chain.

Conventional treatments of wastewater results in the formation of sludges, resulting in high costs for such treatment, recovery and safe disposal.

Vermifiltration is a high new technology that involves the high effluent quality achievement, for population use, through the action of redworms.

FUTURAMB develops and sell vermifiltration systems, called vermifilters. On those systems the liquid effluent, which include waste from households, the Wastewater Treatment and Wastewater from industrial activities such as food processes, passes through an organic substrate containing worms and wormcompost. Worms eat the suspended and dissolved solids and produce more wormcompost, cleanning the wastewater.

Using an organic substrate containing worm castings and an organic substrate it is possible to achieve reductions of BOD5, COD, and STT over 90%.

As a method for low installation cost, and since you don’t produce sludges during the process, vermifiltration has an significant advantage when compared to traditional wastewater processes processes. Beyond this aspect, wormcompost produced has a agronomic asset, not a waste, as happens with sludges.
