Organic Treatment Unit of Futuramb is located in the place of Messines de Cima,  standing in an area of about 1,5 ha. Futuramb’s Vermicomposting Unit is located in the Organic Treatment Unit. The main goals are:

  • Management, treatment and organic waste recovery;
  • Vermicomposting products production: vermicompost, earthworms and vermicompost tea;
  • Conducting research projects in coordination with the Center for Research and Research in Vermicomposting.

Futuramb makes known the practice of vermicomposting, making the transmission of knowledge the aim of the visits and briefings. Organic Treatment Unit is still characterized by the following infrastructures:

  • Reactor / In Vessel continuous treatment with a capacity of about 350 kg of waste per week;
  • 2 Beds of 8 m3 each;
  • 1 Bed with 1,8 m3;
  • 9 digesters for waste stabilization of 3.1 m3 each;
  • 1 Macerator of domestic organic waste (food scraps);
  • Reactor to formulate with vermicompost tea production capacity up to 100 L every 48 hours;
  • Greenhouse;
  • Mechanical sieve;
  • Laboratory.
