Unidade de Valorização Orgânica (UVO) is located at Messines de Cima inside Algarve’s Barrocal, occupying an area of ​​approximately 1,5 ha. In UVO we develop the following activities:

  • Organic waste management and treatment by vermicomposting.
  • Vermicomposting products production: wormcompost, worm extract, redworms, and others.
  • Vermicomposting systems exemplification.
  • Redworms production by vermiculture.
  • Wormcompost application – vermifertilization.
  • Vermifiltration systems exemplification.
  • Vermirremediation of polluted and contaminated soils exemplification.
